Alan & Margaret McIlhenny in Ireland & South Africa.

Praise God for…
• For safety for our staff and volunteers during the recent violence in South Africa. Much of our work is in targeted areas and with groups that are the subject of xenophobia.
• Vivian’s wife is much better but we continue to pray for Dorian’s wife, Claudine

Please pray for…
• For the efforts to bring peace and reconciliation in the communities affected by the xenophobia.
• Continue to pray for the safety of our staff (Richard, Vivian, Liz, Paulette, Ruth, Samson and Dorian) and volunteers as they work in unsafe areas.
• It is getting colder in South Africa as winter arrives. Pray for the 20,000 refugees, many now living in tents. Also many of our children in the informal settlements live in shacks where the wind blows right through the rooms.
• Vivian and Richard travel to Swaziland to train the first group of volunteers there on 6-7 June. Pray that the volunteers will be inspired and equipped to use their new teaching skills to bring hope in Christ to many children at risk in this very needy country.
• Alan and Margaret attend staff meetings at the head office of ACSI and are meeting with staff at a Christian university to set up teaching experience and research opportunities in South Africa for education students from the USA.

Praise God for…
• Safe travel and arrival home in Ireland.
• So many wonderful friends that I have, which unfortunately I have had to leave behind in Tonga.

Please pray for…
• Tonga's political situation. There are some fears that the situation might deteriorate if the King and parliament don't start to make the changes that they promised.
• All teachers in the schools, especially those trying to do their best for the pupils.

David & Sarah Hall, Rebecca (2) and Reuben (7 months) in Bangladesh

Praise God for…
• We all travelled out of Dhaka together to the west of the country - Sarah for teacher training and David to finish writing a project proposal. It was good to be out of Dhaka, Rebecca and Reuben got lots of attention and the teacher training went well.

Please pray for…
• David's mum, who has been diagnosed with cancer and recently started a course of chemotherapy. Pray that the side effects would be minimal and this treatment would be successful.
• Our colleagues, James and Linda (who were married last November) were due to return to the UK for leave, but the British High Commission declined Linda's visa application. They will reapply for a visa at the end of May.
• Sarah, as she plans for another teacher training workshop later this month. Please also pray that it would be a useful time for the teachers attending.

David & Rhoda Nixon, Samuel (10), Christopher (9), in Zambia.

Praise God for…
• We rejoice that David has completed the course work in Development studies, however he will be continuing with research for a Masters degree over the next four months.

Please pray for…
• Rodwell Nzoolo, a C.E.F. worker from Choma. Rodwell is due to travel to Ireland on 17th June, as we write he has not received his Irish Visa, and may not do so in time, pray for guidance and for God's way to be made clear as decisions are made in relation to his trip. Pray for Rodwell in this unknown situation.
• Mr Mwango acting principal recovering from a broken leg, pray also for Subi Thomas who is carrying much of the workload of the training centre. Pray for unity and well being among the staff.
• All infected and affected by HIV AIDS related illnesses, so many people suffering, grieving and left struggling. Pray for Choma consistory orphan committee as they make decisions and try to give aid to 150 orphans.
• The Nixon family as they prepare to return 'home' to Choma in July. It can be a very stressful and busy time getting organised with many and various demands on our limited time.
